We are a team of researchers from Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN), Universiti Malaya (UM), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), and Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) that have collaborated in a project entitled Fostering Technical Entrepreneurship in Research Communities through Localised Content and Industrial Experts, supported by the Royal Academy of Engineering (RAEng) under the Leaders in Fellowship (LIF) Community Grant 2020 scheme.
The aim of the project is to address the barriers to commercialise innovations developed by local universities in Malaysia. The objective is to establish modules and organize webinars on entrepreneurship and commercialisation with industry experts incorporating local content. An overview of the project can be found here
Dr Jaspaljeet Singh Dhillon (Project Leader)

Dr. Jaspaljeet Singh Dhillon is a Senior Lecturer at the College of Computing and Informatics, Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN). He is a Head of Unit and manages research grants at the Innovation & Research Management Centre (iRMC), UNITEN. He completed his PhD in Computer Science in 2013 at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. Previously, he has worked as an IT Executive Analyst at TNB. He has published over 60 peer-reviewed papers in reputed international journals and conferences. He is one of the recipients of Leaders in Innovation Fellowship (LIF) programme led by the Royal Academy of Engineering, London in 2017. His current research interests include consumer health informatics, human-computer interaction, Gerontechnology, Telehealth, Social Networking & Web 2.0 Technologies.
Associate Professor Dr Jeyraj Selvaraj
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jeyraj Selvaraj has a strong academic background and currently he is an associate professor and the deputy director of University Malaya Power Energy Dedicated Advanced Centre (UMPEDAC). He is one of the recipient of Leaders in Innovation Fellowship (LIF) programme led by the Royal Academy of Engineering, London in 2017. His research interests include solar system, single- and three phase multilevel inverters, digital current-control techniques, photovoltaic inverters, and dc-dc converters. He is one of the recipient of NAM research training fellowship for young scientist in 2016.
Professor Ir. Ts. Dr. Mohamed Thariq Hameed Sultan

Professor Ir. Ts. Dr. Mohamed Thariq Bin Haji Hameed Sultan (M.T.H. Sultan) has a good 14 years of experience in teaching and research. His expertise includes Aerospace Materials, Hybrid Composites, Advance Materials, Structural Health Monitoring and Impact Studies. He has published more than 230 International journal papers, 10 books and received many awards both locally and internationally. In the year 2020, he was recognised as Top Research Scientist Malaysia (TRSM) by Akademi Sains Malaysia (ASM). In December 2017, he was awarded Leaders in Innovation Fellowship (LIF) by the Royal Academy of Engineering (RAENG), United Kingdom (UK).
Associate Professor Dr Rohayu Che Omar

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rohayu Bte Che Omar is the Director in the Institute of Energy Infrastructure, Universiti Tenaga Nasional. She is actively involved in research and has received various awards: UNITEN Academic Award, UNITEN International Consultancy Award, UNITEN Academic Award, Innovation & Product Commercialisation Category, Academic Leadership Award UNITEN, Overall Category, and Special Award for Community Involvement UNITEN. She is one of the recipients of Leaders in Innovation Fellowship (LIF) programme led by the Royal Academy of Engineering, London in 2017.
Dr Suthashini Subramaniam

Dr Suthashini Subramaniam is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), Kampar Campus, Malaysia. She graduated with a PhD in Information and Communication Technology field from Universiti Tenaga Nasional in 2020. She obtained her Master’s degree (Multimedia University) and Bachelor’s Degree (Universiti Tenaga Nasional) in 2007 and 2003, respectively. Her research interests are on Healthcare Informatics, Web and mobile-based applications, Database Management System and Information Systems. She has received several Best Paper awards and medals for her publications and research. Her PhD research was selected for presentation at the Royal Academy of Engineering, London in December 2017.
